CONWAY – Coastal Carolina's Megan Brouse did something that hasn’t been done in nearly five years.

The junior forward for the CCU women's soccer team scored her first career hat trick in a 4-1 win over Georgia Southern in Statesboro, Ga., on Oct. 15, the first time a Chant has scored three goals in a game since November 2016. For her performance, Brouse was named the Sun Belt Conference offensive player of the week on Oct. 19. It's the first time she has received the honor in her college career, and the first time for any CCU player this season.

The Phoenix, Ariz., native is the Chants’ leading scorer with six goals on the season, and her heroics in the win over the Eagles helped CCU get its 200th win in program history.

The Chants are 5-7-2 overall and 3-4-1 in the Sun Belt play as of Oct. 21 with two games to go in the regular season.

The Sun Belt Conference Tournament begins on Nov. 1 at Foley Sports Tourism Complex in Foley, Ala.
